Problems With Bacon and Marlowe
Christopher Marlowe:
The main problem for the argument of Christopher Marlowe being Shakespeare is that he died in 1593. The first work of Shakespeare, Venus and Adonis, was published thirteen days after Marlowe's death.

Francis Bacon:
Similar to Marlowe's case, Bacon's years of life do not match with Shakespeare's. Shakespeare died in 1616. Bacon would live another decade (1626), but there would no be further works.
The other problem with Bacon is that there is not any substantial evidence that he was a poet of any kind, despite rumors.

In your view, does this evidence strengthen or weaken claims that Bacon or Marlowe wrote Shakespeare's plays?
